FA's plot, species information, Fanyndale's design, and skin belong to the FA staff. Laura made this skin and the site graphics. The staff combined came up with the written portions we claim as ours. We all worked hard on nurturing this idea into something that could work, and the members with their creations make it the joy that it is. The carousel header code was reposted at Caution, originally made by Ring Wang at Tympanus. The toggling cbox was coded by Kismet at RPG-D. No copyright infringement is intended anywhere, don't sue us, we're humble roleplayers.

It's springtime here in Fanyndale! The sun shines half the time, and the rain falls the other half. Sure, sometimes there's some puddles or the river overstepping its banks a little, but the grass is turning up green again as the spring weather coaxes life back out of the ground. When the sun is out, it's warm enough to go without a coat. Sometimes it can get quite windy however, and on cloudy days it'a not a bad idea to leave with an umbrella just in case. We're currently in the year 2264.

No New Posts plotting
Without plotting, there's really no roleplaying going on, because nobody has any connection to anybody else, and that's just sad and boring. So plot! Go go go! You can give each child their own plotter, or you can bundle them all into one. It's all up to you. We don't require bundling. We're not an insurance company.

Right, so what this is is a place to post your own personal things about your character. Drabbles (au or not), stuff that strikes you as them or something they'd be interested in, journal entries, whatever. Songs they like. Movie posters of their favorite films. It shows their growth beyond threading and plotting. There's not really any rules here.

No New Posts festival of summer
As the ever warmer weather swathes itself around Fanyndale, so does the annual Festival of Summer. A celebration of prosperity, earth and life, the occasion is always a jubilant one, whether you're a follower of the Mother or not. Special stalls have joined the usual occupants of Market Square, along with street performers and the wafting scents of special treats. The festivities spread throughout town, though the hub mostly centers around the Market Square and some out at the Mother's Temple, if something more religious takes your fancy. Either way, summer is a favored season here in Fanyndale, and it surely shows.

No New Posts summer ball
As the years of Fanyndale's civilized existence have steadily rolled on, for decades it has been a custom that with the seasonal celebrations, the ruling Governor's family opens their home to the citizenry of Fanyndale: yeah, you guessed it, there's a ball. This does not mean you have to wear the best clothing you own. It's not a matter of high class against the low class. They're held in the spirit of the season and unity-- though, speaking of the low class and anyone of a lower brow that may consider committing any less than savory acts while attending such an event, the current Governor himself is an established witch and you can bet your bottom there's charms all over to prevent theft or anything else that will get you a straight ticket to the jailhouse. There's also a well-paid security staff, especially on nights such as this. That being said, they're wonderful affairs, and a good time for all is almost guaranteed (almost because, you know, I can't tell you what to do; I'm just effectively a narrator here).

No New Posts market square
The center of town, as well as the central hub of all activity that goes on around here. Every day you can find stalls and booths set up, selling their wares. There's plenty of them, and everyone's used to the square being full and busy because of it. Some of the more successful businesses have over time managed to secure their own building space. Not all of them are in the business of selling items, but the whole area is basically one big market. At the center stands the grand white fountain, known fondly as the wishing fountain. Whether wishes are actually granted, no one is really sure, but it's a nice thought anyway.

No New Posts main street
Not all important or popular places are in Market Square, you know. Main Street has some fine establishments, just not nearly as many places to buy and sell. There are a few specialty places, but mostly the buildings that line Main Street are upstanding necessities (or not so much upstanding in the case of the jailhouse) or little luxuries. Or they were lucky enough to get a prime location that would be guaranteed easy to remember, in some cases. Main Street is definitely the second-most hub of all activity in town.

Everyone has to live somewhere. All threads set in a home setting, rural or in town (except for the wolf packs and Mrs. Ogden's), go here. Your character DOES NOT HAVE TO live in any of these subforums. They're just there for organization. There are several people who prefer to live in the urban setting. There are three general sects, though they're completely unofficial and people can live wherever they like. These three have just happened over time. There are also two suburbs, of sorts, the vampire and witch communities that (also over time) grew enough in number they named their own area. There is also a small community of angels near the mountains, and houseboats in the cove.

No New Posts pack territories
The werewolf packs live pretty separately from the town, for pretty obvious reasons. That's not to say they don't come around. Of course they do. They have to buy things just like everybody else and enjoy a good time just as much as the next person. It's just that werewolves do tend to live with their pack. They don't have to, but it's very common. The term "territory" is basically a reference to the area a pack frequents. The boundaries are generally known for safety reasons, because let's be honest, it seems like common courtesy to let people know where they shouldn't be on a full moon night.

No New Posts the forest
The forest is just that: the forest. No fancy name attached to it. Most tend to use the cardinal directions when directing someone to a specific part. North Forest, East Forest, that kind of thing. At the heart of it is the Mother's Temple. There's a well laid path to and from it, but if you're going exploring, don't expect any other path. Unless you're looking for the wolf packs, in which case there may be some sort of path laid down if you know what to look for. It can be very deep and dark in parts, so take care to pay attention and not get lost. Be kind to any faeries you come across, too. There are also people who live out here and aren't wolves, so if you happen across a house, respect personal boundaries (because they won't necessarily respect your trespassing).

No New Posts mermaid lagoon
Of course a whole lake is too big to be considered a lagoon, but the nickname fit, and it's stuck to this day. It's a very large body of water and deep in spots, and the island in its center can be reached only by boat if you're not of the aquatic sort. The merfolk and aquatic faeries frequent the lake, the river, and the shorelines. The river flows from the mountains into the lake and on out of it to the sea, so there's plenty of places for all of them to go. Most merfolk tend to make their homes somewhere in here though, but not all.

No New Posts marshland
Extending from the western half of the forested Whelan pack territory to the forest near Mermaid Lagoon, and out to sea really, is the marshland. It can be treacherous if you don't know what you're doing, if you don't watch where you step for instance. There's a lot of water, a lot of soggy ground, mud, and it's generally a spooky place. Not a lot happens here -- or maybe it does, because not a lot of people go here. It's said that the marsh keeps its dead, whether dumped there or drowned. Teenagers tell scary stories about vengeful ghosts dwelling there. They may not be so untrue. There are some who live around the outer edges of the mrashlands, but they'll tell you it's foolish to truly go out there.

No New Posts the river
Much like the forest, the faithful watery division through Fanyndale is simply called the river. It begins in the mountains and flows southward into Mermaid Lagoon, then takes an eastward turn out to the shoreline of the cove. It's fairly wide, certainly not the widest river there's ever been but wide enough for two houseboats to slide by one another if they need to. The current is typically slow enough to swim across if you must, or to just swim in for kicks. Be careful all the same. There's a lone bridge spanning the river in between the Mother's Temple and the Lowell pack's homes; the other side brings you close to Angeles and the cemetery. It also places you in Volkov territory.

No New Posts the beach
Most of the shoreline, except for some near the upper class portion of town, is open to the public. It's kept nice and clean, and it's a popular spot during the summers on sunny days. As mentioned, some of it is not a public option. Some of the upper class citizens have property extending out to the water. Sorry about that. The southern side wraps around into the marshlands, which can be dangerous. The plantlife, ground, and water currents start to change around there, and it can be easy to forget that.

No New Posts foothills
The foothills, as they're called, border the mountains that mark the edge of Fanyndale's civilization. The nature is pretty wild out here, something the Volkov pack appreciates, but the angel community Angeles is here too. It's certainly not a no man's land. The cemetery is near the river and Mermaid Lagoon, but far enough away to be safe should there be any flooding. There's also a cave, closer to the mountains, that bored kids like to scare each other with and dare each other to go in (there's nothing to it though).

No New Posts the mountains
The mountains aren't honestly mountains. They're more like very large, very tree-covered hills. They're difficult to cross, and they aren't any roads through them all the way. Beyond them is fields and empty land, if you manage to make it that far. They can be treacherous and going up in them is ill advised unless you're just that rugged adventurer type. Nobody really lives up there except those kinds of people.

No New Posts the fields
What isn't bordered by the mountains is bordered by more of the forest or fields. Some of it's used as farmland, in which case mind your trespassing, but some of it is also wild grains, wild grasses and flowers. They can be gorgeous when they're out in bloom, and they seem to go on forever.

First off, you do not need a signature. Only if you want one, but you do need an avatar, and plotters typically require images. If you need some help, don't hesitate you ask someone! If you're willing to help out or you just make pretty things, maybe ship graphics or something like that, feel free to set up your own little "shop" or "gallery," let people request things, and off you go. They don't have to be images, if video is more your thing.
